Abstract
Interior design is a multifaceted discipline that seeks to optimize the functionality, aesthetics, and overall quality of interior spaces. This extends beyond mere decoration, encompassing elements such as layout, furniture selection, materials, color schemes, and lighting, all tailored to enhance comfort and well-being. Interior design profoundly influences the behavior, productivity, and mood of occupants and, by extension, reflects the character of the space. In the context of individuals with autism, interior design emerges as a critical factor that can positively impact their behavior, learning, and overall quality of life, providing a secure and nurturing environment. This paper delves into the significance of interior design for individuals with autism. Autism, characterized by social communication and interaction challenges, necessitates tailored design solutions that cater to the unique needs of affected individuals. While efforts to address autism have been made through various channels, there remains a gap in understanding how architectural and interior design factors can contribute to the well-being of those with autism. This research seeks to bridge this gap by shedding light on the essential considerations for interior design in spaces meant for individuals with autism. By exploring design elements like color, texture, and layout, this study aims to contribute valuable insights to improve the living conditions and support the development of individuals with autism.
