Abstract
The visual character of historical buildings plays a crucial role in shaping the identity of a city with historical significance. Preserving these heritage cities requires a deep understanding of the city's identity and the visual attributes of its historical buildings. Each building contributes uniquely to the city's identity and visual character, making it essential to recognize and appreciate their cultural and aesthetic values. This article explores the significance of the visual character of historical buildings in preserving heritage cities, emphasizing the role of aesthetic value in enhancing the city's overall visual appeal. By analyzing the cultural and aesthetic aspects of heritage buildings, we gain insights into their importance in maintaining the quality of the urban environment. This research underscores the need to consider both the historical and aesthetic values of these buildings to ensure their successful preservation and their continued contribution to the city's identity and visual landscape
