Abstract
The evolution of military forces worldwide, encompassing changes in size, strength, equipment, weapon systems, and infrastructure, reflects the dynamic nature of contemporary global challenges and national security imperatives. In addition to their traditional roles, modern militaries are increasingly tasked with innovative responsibilities aligned with broader national objectives. Consequently, there is a growing need for a responsive and adaptable training system to uphold the professional competence of military personnel. In the context of militaries deploying advanced weaponry and technology, the demand for highly educated and well-trained officers and soldiers is paramount (Baratz-Snowden, 2009).
This paper underscores the significance of not only having capable individuals who can fulfill their roles but also individuals who are motivated and eager to excel in their positions. Furthermore, it emphasizes that optimal performance stems from aligning the right individual with the right position, providing them with the opportunity to fulfill their designated responsibilities effectively. As technology continues to advance and military roles diversify, the onus falls on military training institutions to continually enhance the competencies of their instructors. This is essential to ensure that these instructors can disseminate evolving knowledge pertinent to the ever-changing military landscape. Consequently, the performance of military instructors assumes a central role within armed forces, with the quality of training contingent upon the knowledge and teaching skills of these instructors.
Drawing from Bramley's (1991) definition of training as "the systematic development of the attitude, knowledge, skill, and behavior pattern required by an individual to perform adequately a given task or job," this study unpacks the key components of "systematic development." It underscores the importance of meticulous planning and control in training processes. Furthermore, it elucidates the notion of the "individual, encompassing group and team development within a military context.
