Abstract

The valuation of cultural goods is a critical yet complex issue in the realm of culture funding and resource allocation. This abstract introduces the necessity of developing a certified method for valuing cultural assets with a focus on objectivity and comparability. While the discussion around this topic is lacking in the Czech Republic and often lacks systematic approaches globally, this paper argues for the creation of a method that can provide more reliable and consistent results. The challenges inherent in valuing cultural goods are briefly outlined.
