Abstract

Drought is a recurring and widespread natural phenomenon with severe consequences for regions across the globe. This paper explores the impact of drought in various parts of the world, including India, Israel, southern Africa, China, Australia, the United States, and northeastern Brazil. Drought events in these regions are characterized by differing frequencies and intensities, making them a subject of great concern due to their profound effects on ecosystems, economies, and human populations. This study seeks to shed light on the multifaceted nature of drought and its consequences by examining historical occurrences and their associated challenges.
