Abstract

This study estimates the private returns to education in Nepal using data from the Nepal Living Standard Measurement Survey (LSMS) 2018-19. The results show that the private rate of return to education is 7.1%, which is higher than the returns to other investments in Nepal. The returns are higher for women than for men, and they are higher for higher levels of education. The results suggest that education is a good investment for individuals in Nepal, and it can help to reduce poverty and inequality
