Abstract

This paper examines the increasing rates of mental illness in the United States, with a focus on the impact of untreated mental illness on society. The paper begins by providing an overview of the prevalence of mental illness in the United States, and the consequences of not receiving treatment. It then discusses the factors that contribute to the increase in mental illness, and the challenges of providing mental health care in the United States. The paper concludes by calling for increased investment in mental health care, and for a more comprehensive approach to addressing the issue of mental illness.
